Virtual Home Tours in Liverpool

Chinatown:

It’s well worth taking a virtual tour of Liverpool’s Chinatown. Which happens to boast the largest Chinese arch outside of China. The arch was originally built in 2000 and is 44 feet tall. The location of the arch was carefully chosen in accordance with traditional Feng Shui principles. If you look carefully at the arch you’ll spot dragons painted onto the arch. In total there are 200 dragons which are painted across the arch. On a virtual tour of Liverpool’s Chinatown you should easily be able to spot two bronze lions which were built as guardians of the arch.

Prior to taking a virtual tour of Liverpool’s Chinatown, I had no idea that Liverpool boasted its own Chinatown or that it was home to the largest Chinese arch which is located outside of China. Or that Liverpool is home to such a strong Chinese community. Part of the fun aspects of taking a virtual tour of Chinatown is seeing traditional Chinese design elements side by side with historic British buildings.

If you’re interested in seeing one of the most impressive decorative arches in the world, I highly recommend taking a virtual tour of Liverpool’s Chinatown. As it’s my favorite virtual tour in Liverpool which is on offer.

St George’s Hall:

St George’s Hall is another Liverpool based attraction which offers a virtual tour. It’s definitely well worth exploring St George’s Hall via virtual tour as its one of the most famous landmarks in Liverpool.

St George’s Hall is located across the road from Lime Street station and is a spacious hall which boasts over 500 seats. Originally the hall was built to host musical events. Such as touring productions and orchestral performances. If you visit St George’s Hall for yourself in the future you may be able to buy tickets to a live show.

St George’s Hall is a grade I historic building and is a neoclassical building which was inspired by traditional Greek and Roman styled buildings. If you take a virtual tour around St George’s Hall you’ll be able to see the hall’s barrel style rolled vaulted ceiling and it’s beautifully preserved tiled Minton Floor.

Merseyside Maritime Musuem:

If you have an interest in maritime history do yourself a favor and take a virtual tour of the Merseyside Maritime Musuem, which is located on the Royal Albert Dock. Which happens to be one of the most visited locations in Liverpool. On the walls of the musuem you’ll be able to see pictures, sketches, paintings and models which will bring the history of Liverpool to life.

So if you’re looking to virtually travel through the power of the internet, do yourself a favor and take a virtual tour of Liverpool. If you don’t know where to get started, begin with my personal favorite a tour of Liverpool’s Chinatown.
