The Best Beer-Focused Festival in the Washington DC Area

Snallygaster 2019 bills itself as “the district’s beastliest beer festival, bar none.” Looking at the lineup of beers, food, and fun they have in store, it’s hard to argue with that assessment! The festival has been formulated by the people behind Sovereign, Churchkey, and Bluejacket, some of DC’s finest bars and breweries.

You can visit Snallygaster in the heart of Washington, DC on Pennsylvania Ave NW, between 3rd& 6th. It’s scheduled to take place on October 3, 2019. If you’re planning on attending the event this year, or you’re just a beer-lover who happens to have plans in the Capital around that date, you’ll want to know as much as possible about it. That way, you can arrive in DC completely prepared.

What is Snallygaster?

The annual beer festival is quite the experience! There are over 400 different beers on offer coming from over 150 breweries worldwide. Even if you think you’ve tried everything, one visit to Snallygaster is all it takes to lose that illusion.

The event also serves as the largest annual fundraiser for Arcadiafood.org, a non-profit dedicated to making a more equitable, sustainable local food system in the Washington region.

Food trucks are available to serve up delicious eats and two stages provide a place for musicians to entertain you with live music. Have the time of your life drinking, eating, and rocking out. You’ll never forget the time you had in DC attending Snallygaster 2019.

The Cost of a Good Time is Less Than You Thought

There are two different passes you can buy to get into the event. The first is the Kraken Pass. It costs $50 for General Admission and allows you to gain entrance to the event at 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. You get a commemorative tasting glass and the opportunity to sample unlimited beer and wine until the event is over.

The second is the Basilisk Pass which grants you VIP status. It’s $100 and gives you early entry to the event. You can come two hours earlier at 12:00 PM and stay until the event ends at 6:00 PM. Like GA tickets, you get a commemorative tasting glass as a thank you gift and unlimited access to all the vendors and their wines and beers.

The sooner you buy your pass or passes, the better. You’re able to then arrange transportation to DC as well as plan where you’ll stay in the city. The hotels in the area of the event fill up fast so you’ll want to act quickly to ensure that you have a nice room to stay in while attending Snallygaster 2019.

Hotels Near Downtown Washington DC

If you’re in town for Snallygaster, or even here on other business, you’ll want a hotel that’s conveniently located. Grand Hyatt Washington is one popular choice of people looking for hotels near Downtown Washington, DC. Not only is it close to DC’s famous landmarks, but it’s also close to Snallygaster 2019. There is complimentary Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and it’s connected to the DC Metro Center right from the lobby.

The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center is another good pick. It’s also located in the heart of downtown. With an in-room spa menu and stylish on-site cocktail bar, you can enjoy a pampered stay after a long day on the town.

The Event of the Year That Involves Beer

If you’re a brew connoisseur, attending Snallygaster 2019 will be the highlight of your year. With so many beers to choose from, you’ll be in hops heaven. The festival’s location in the beautiful capital area just makes it that much better!
