Become a Pilates Instructor and Change your Life for the Better

You might already be familiar with Pilates, a revolutionary set of physical exercises that demand a high level of control to hold specific positions. This unique discipline was invented by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century, which he originally called ‘contrology’, which is an accurate description of the discipline. Pilates has been very popular in Europe and the UK for many years and it is now exploding onto the scene here in the United States and there is always a demand for qualified Pilates instructors.

Obtaining Pilates Certification

There is only one internationally recognized Pilates academy, called Breathe Education, USA and they offer the Matwork & Reformer Certificate, which enables you to teach Pilates. This intensive course can be completed in an online learning environment and the course is very demanding and challenging, yet it offers you the freedom and independence that comes with having globally recognized certification to teach Pilates.

Course Content

This is a comprehensive curriculum that covers the following:

  • The physical body
  • Repertoire
  • Cueing
  • Programming

The teachers are dedicated to helping you though the course and you are assigned a success coach who is always there for you and will communicate via video calls. The curriculum is designed to put you through the paces and with lots of instruction and guided practice, you will gradually hone your skills and when you graduate with the Matwork and Reformer Certificate, you are qualified to teach Pilates anywhere in the world.

Weekly Class Practice

Every week, your class will gather for a virtual practice session, which gives you that valuable hands-on experience and that will boost your self-confidence. After the session, each student receives valuable feedback from the instructor, while new assignments are handed out. All assignments are handed out on a weekly basis, in a structural way that guides you through the challenging curriculum and with fun quizzes and some great activities, you spend an average of 10 hours per week watching professional videos and completing assignments.
