4 Best Mountain Bike Trails in Phoenix, Arizona

best mountain bike trails in phoenix

Mountain biking in Phoenix, Arizona with its countless suburbs is one of the most spread-out urbanized regions in the United States. It has been over 40 years since mountain biking was officially invented. Many work, development, and changes happened to this type of tracks for riding to date. However, mountain bikers are still what they were at the very beginning: people who want to have fun with their bikes with nature. This fun has as many facets as there are mountain bike tours. You experience the rush of speed downhill on wide forest roads, and the adrenaline rushes into your body on the narrow track. You come back from most mountain bike tours with a big smile on your face.

Four best Mountain Bike Trails in Phoenix, Arizona

Here, we have a list of the 4 best Mountain Bike Trails in Phoenix, Arizona:

Trail # 1: Dixie Mountain Loop Trail

Dixie Mountain Loop Trail is well-known. People start this loop from the southern mountain and the loop goes to the north side of the mountain. This mountain has beautiful sceneries with views of Dove valley. However, people should carefully roll around the loop since there are a few narrow spots; most of the pathway remains wider to pass by safely.

Trail # 2: Hidden Valley Trail Via Mormon Trail

The Hidden Valley Trail via Mormom Trail has exciting dry waterfalls squeeze through Fat Man’s Pass and tunnels. Although the first mile can be quite challenging with ups and downs, there are fantastic views. One can stop during the ride at the top of this ridge to see fascinating scenery. It might be alluring, and we do not recommend hiking off-trail here since this area is cactus-filled and rocky.

Trail # 3: Javelina Canyon Ridgeline Loop Trail

Pick up from the south part of the South Mountain Park, along Beverly Canyon Trailhead. The mountain’s loop trail height is 570 ft. and runs approximately 3.5 miles. The trail is pretty famous for its rocky areas.

Trail # 4: Ridgeline and National Trail Loop

Ridgeline Trail starts from the west end of the Javelina Canyon Trail. It follows the northern side of Pima Canyon, along with the hilltops in the way. Besides, the region is not dangerous, but it is rocky and steep in a few spots. The end or exit point brings you to the junction with the Beverly Canyon Trail.

While these are labeled as the 4 best ones, there a lot of other trails in Phoenix, Arizona as well that can be explored by biking enthusiasts. However, one thing that remains the same for all biking trails is the choice of the right riding gear. The riders must ensure wearing cycling helmets, knee and elbow covers. Mountain bikes are also different as compared to normal bikes. Investing in a high-end mountain bike will ensure that you don’t have to worry about any issues with your bike. Cycling is a sport that requires skill as well as the presence of mind of the rider.
