Puerto Pollensa is full of Majorca’s Natural Beauty

Puerto Pollensa offers natural beauty and the kind of authentic experience that lets you see the real Majorca. This small coastal town is full of old buildings with their idyllic charm. Unlike many resort towns, Puerto Pollensa has been happy to keep its old-fashioned charm intact, making it a great place for anyone looking to see the real Majorca.

Natural Beauty in Puerto Pollensa

Even for those who aren’t there for very long, Pollensa gives you an authentic taste of a real town. However, it also lets you see some of the most breath-taking natural beauty, a real highlight of island life.

While the beach is as sparkling as any other on the island, it is backed by Pine Walk. This is a green walkway that perfectly offsets the coast with a very different type of nature. It is possible to wander among an island’s trees and lounge in the sun in the space of ten minutes.

Mountains and Mystery

Just behind the town is the Tramuntana Mountains. These are a picturesque backing for any social-media ready photo. These offer an entirely different lifestyle to that of the beachgoer.

The town’s idyllic beauty has even inspired some of the world’s biggest writers. It is the setting for Agatha Christie’s classic book Problems at Pollensa Bay. It was inspired by and written among the beauty of the Pine Walk. Although you don’t have to worry about walking into a murder mystery.

Living with the Locals in Puerto Pollensa

The experience of a real Majorca is what brings so many to Puerto Pollensa. There are all of the luxuries and amenities you expect from a popular destination. However, it is possible to go off the beaten track and experience something more real. The idyllic town used to serve as a fishing community, and many of the locals are still involved in this industry. Fishing boats are a common sight and seafood is a local speciality.

As well as the rustic charm, there is a 9-hole golf course in the town and an 18-hole just outside. The mountains in the area aren’t just scenery, those looking for something more active than golf can occupy themselves hiking. The views from this range are breath-taking and definitely worth the climb.
